Course Aim
To provide candidates with a greater understanding of on-site safety awareness. It is a passport scheme and does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.
Who should attend?
This is a national scheme in the form of a 1 day course which is designed for those involved in operational activities within or around the water industry and who require access to sites, both permanent and temporary. The course is relevant for all operatives, supervisors and managers.
Course Agenda
Utility SHEA (Water) comprises of thirteen modules. The eight core modules are common to all utility industries and form the basis of health, safety and environmental law and practices.
There are five modules that are specific to the water industry which cover a range of operations within the clean water network, the sewage network and process operations.
All trainees will be complete the core modules, however dependant on job role, they may complete any combination of the clean water network and process modules.
It is designed to provide on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge and awareness.

Course Method
Classroom instruction including the use of power point, handouts, videos. Confirmation of learning is assessed by multiple choice questionnaires.
Benefits
Successful participants will receive the EUSR SHEA (Water) with the CSCS logo. The card is valid for 3 years. The Utility SHEA (Water) scheme is affiliated with the construction skills certification.
